June, 2005

OK everyone - here's the big news : Sue & I will be heading to Chicago from June 30 - July 5.

Yup - it's long overdue, and we're looking forward to seeing all of our friends & family once again. But how to see everyone?

The basic idea is that - for friends - we'll be meeting at a lounge being run by a few of our friends - other wise, we'd spend all of our time in town driving around, looking for people. And that simply won't do. So we're looking into spending Friday July 1 at a place called "

Lava Lounge" which is located here.

For family - don't worry, we'll find you.

Also, I'll be doing my lighting thing for Grammy-award winning artist Frankie Knuckles on Sunday, July 3rd at the House Of Blues (for tickets

As of now, this is my only lighting 'client' - altho I don't consider Frankie an client, really - he's much more of a good friend and professional colleague. Wait'll you see the nifty lil' keyboard I picked up to run this show with - it's so damn cool, I wish they were making these years ago when I was into lighting full-time.

Finally, I've been building a practice space close to my home in order to work on some new experiments in recording and performance. My show is shaping up to be something rather unique - in a good way, mind you - and all that's left is a few pieces of gear to purchase. Which I can't afford right now. But the violin goes back on ebay in a few days, so hopefully that'll provide some much-needed gadgets and geegaws for my work.

By the way - I finally watched the Beatles Anthology, which inspired me to complete my Beatles music library, and also read

"The Complete BEATLES Recording Sessions; The Official Story of the Abbey Road Years 1962-1970 ", which was fascinating in a tech-geek sorta way. I can't wait to try out some of the recording studio tricks I've learned through these materials.

Stay tuned.
