Allrighty - the 2005 Halloween Revival Party was a success!

Admittedly, I was a bit nervous. After all, this party had a few firsts: it was the first time I'd invited the entire staff of an office to attend; the first time I performed live music with others in front of an audience; the first time I didn't allow myself to get completely intoxicated; the first party in Las Vegas; and the first time I ever bought a costume (sorry - no pictures yet). However, even with all that pressure, the event went off smooth. There were some great improvised electronic music sets performed by myself (Korg electribes SX1 + MX1), in collaboration with Kris Valdez (Tascam X-9), Justin Koetter (Korg MS-2000), and Matty Olsen (Yamaha Rm1x + RS-7000). Believe it or not, Scott "Big Daddy" Petway of Nightclubs.com even threw down a little keyboard action for the group!

Our friend Tori made the award for most dedicated friend by coming up from Phoenix, along with Sue's sister Sherri (and can you believe after all these years I still don't know how to spell her name? Tsk tsk on me). For those who couldn't attend, please make your plans now for next year!

These past few months have just been a whirlwind. Fortunately the next few weeks are relatively quiet, something I'll be taking full advantage of by lounging on the sofa, catching up on movies, watching old episodes of You Bet Your Life and hopefully solving a few video games. Sure, that might seem kinda tame and lame to some of you, but I need to chill out for a while. I should probably do some hiking as well.

I've been doing a lot of research (well, I lie - it's not a 'lot' yet - but I can tell it will quickly turn into a 'lot' very, very soon) into hat it takes to start my own company. So far, it looks less frightening that I originally feared, and by this time next year I may be a full-fledged working freelance photographer. Wish me luck - this could be the big one for me....

And if you haven't picked up the entire Soap series on DVD yet... well, what are you waiting for?

Stay tuned.
